Ten vulnerable women, some of whom were living with HIV/AIDS, were empowered through a piggery project supported by Kassanda Children’s Aid (KCA), made possible through a Global Giving project led by Lisa Dengel. The project provided the women with pigs, training, and support to manage their own piggery businesses.
Through this initiative, the women have gained a sustainable source of income, enabling them to become self-sufficient and support their families. They are now able to afford basic necessities, including scholastic materials for their children, and are taking care of their own health and well-being.
The piggery project has not only improved their economic situation but has also boosted their confidence and self-esteem. These women are now role models in their communities, demonstrating the power of resilience and determination.
Their success story is a testament to the impact of targeted support and empowerment programs, which can transform the lives of vulnerable individuals and communities. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lisa Dengel and Global Giving for their wonderful support and leadership in making this project a reality.
