Success Story: David Mbabaali

David’s story is a testament to the power of support and guidance. As a paternal orphan, David was living with his mother, who struggled to make ends meet without a formal job. We registered him in our OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) program when he was young and sponsored his education up to Primary Seven. Although David did not perform well in his Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), we provided him with career guidance, and he showed great interest in motor vehicle mechanics.

Under the Get-Schooled project, led by Stacy from Canada, David was enrolled in a two-year course at Kapalaga and Sons Garage, where his trainers praised his discipline and quick understanding. After completing his training, we purchased a full toolbox for David, enabling him to start working and earning a living.

Today, David’s hard work and determination have paid off. He recently shared with us that he has bought a motorcycle and a one-acre plot of land in Gambwa for his mother, who had been renting for her entire life. David’s future is now bright, and his dream of changing his family’s life is becoming a reality. He is not only supporting his younger brother’s education but also planning to build a house for his mother.

David’s story is a shining example of how our support and guidance, made possible through partnerships like the Get-Schooled project, can empower vulnerable children to achieve their goals and improve their lives.
